Memorial evening ‘Heroes do not die’

As part of the ART&ART project, the Ethno Library hosted a memorial evening ‘Heroes Do Not Die’, organised by the charity foundation ‘Protection of War Victims’ on the initiative of Mykhailo Melnyk. The evening was dedicated to the soldiers who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine.

📜 An unforgettable poem by Mykhailo Melnyk:
We will not forget the days of war...
They are in our memory.
And those heroes are unforgettable,
That go with us into the ages to come.
🎨 A unique exposition of shell casings painted by artists and students of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFA) attracted special attention of the guests. More than 60 exhibits, each of which is a symbol of peace, victory, life and goodness, featured portraits of historical figures, the great Kobzar, female images, symbols, angels, birds and animals, and Ukrainian ornaments. These art objects demonstrate how lethal weapons can be transformed into artistic masterpieces filled with the spirit of an indomitable people.
🙌 The event was attended by volunteers of the 198th Brigade and partners from the British NGO Vans Without Borders and the Charity Foundation ‘Oberih Vidrodzhennia’.
🎤 The concert programme with the participation of Victoria Shevchenko, Ruslan Delinko and People's Artist of Ukraine Svitlana Mirvoda lifted the spirit and gave faith in the victory of Good over evil.
📽️ The video ‘A Mother's Prayer - A Soldier's Saga’ and the emotional performance of the song ‘Oh, there is a red viburnum in the meadow’ united all those present in common memory and hope.
💙💛 Glory to the soldiers of the National Guard! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!
